Kawerak Summer Internship Program

Kawerak is recruiting for its 2020 Summer Internship Program! The deadline is Tuesday, March 31, 2020. Kawerak’s Higher Education Scholarship recipients are strongly encouraged to apply. Our Summer Internship Program aims to provide exceptional leadership development and employment experience. Kawerak’s 10 – 12 week paid internship program will run May through August; flexible dates to accommodate student schedules.

Program Overview: • Competitive paid internship - $25 per hour • Successful applicants must have a 2.0 GPA or higher and are a current Kawerak Higher Education Scholarship recipient or within the past year • Worksite placement available at Kawerak or in Bering Strait Region (your home community) • Fulltime work schedule, 37.5 hours a week, for 10 – 12 weeks (May through August) • Interns are expected to secure their own housing and accommodations during program • Required leadership and skill building sessions

Internship Application Must Include: • Signed summer internship application • Current copy of college/technical transcript(s) from the previous semester • Two professional reference letters (examples include: professor, employer, advisor) • Current Resume • Personal Statement
