Combined Application for College & Higher Education

Kawerak 2023 Peer Mentoring Program - Applications Available!

Kawerak, Inc. is excited to announce our Peer Mentoring Program beginning the Fall 2023 semester. The peer mentoring program is designed to pair a third- or fourth-year (at least Junior standing) student mentor with a first-year (freshman standing) student mentee to provide support services, offer resources, and help adjust to life in college.

Students eligible to participate in the peer mentoring program as mentors and mentees are Kawerak scholarship recipients enrolled in a degree program at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) or the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) and attending courses on campus.

Kawerak will host gatherings for all peer mentoring program participants to connect with Alaska Native cultures and to create opportunities for mentees and mentors to build upon their local network of peers. Peer Mentees participate in the monthly gatherings and meet with their mentors twice a month throughout the academic year.
